    How to make Vegetarian Braised Jackfruit:

    Step 1: Prepare the ingredients

    • First, you need to stew the jackfruit first. When stewing the jackfruit, remember to leave the jackfruit skin on and stew for about 7-8 hours. You can also buy pre-braised jackfruit.
    • Wash the Vietnamese coriander with water and let it drain. As for the chili, you just need to break it into 3 pieces.
    • Cut the jackfruit into large pieces of 3-4 cm so that when stewing the jackfruit, it won’t fall apart.

    Step 2: Fry the jackfruit

    Put a pan of oil on the stove and let it heat up, then put the jackfruit in and fry until you see the surface of the jackfruit is slightly wrinkled.

    Step 3: Braised jackfruit

    • Next, take the Vietnamese coriander and chili that you prepared earlier and put them in a new pot. Arrange the fried jackfruit in the pot with the Vietnamese coriander and chili at the bottom of the pot.
    • Add 3 tablespoons of vegetarian fish sauce, 5 tablespoons of soy sauce, ½ tablespoon of sugar, 2 tablespoons of chili sauce and add enough filtered water to braise the jackfruit.
    • While waiting for the jackfruit to absorb the spices, prepare a clay pot and put the Vietnamese coriander in the pot. When the jackfruit is braised, arrange the jackfruit in the clay pot and put everything else in the clay pot!
    • Continue to braise in the clay pot on the stove for about 5 minutes and turn off the stove. When you take the clay pot down, you can add a little Vietnamese coriander and chili on top of the jackfruit, this will make the vegetarian braised young jackfruit more attractive.

    2. Young jackfruit and betel leaf soup

    Ingredients

    • Young jackfruit, betel leaf
    • Fresh mushrooms
    • Seasoning powder, MSG, pepper, red chili
    • Scallions, shallots

    Instructions

    Step 1: Slice young jackfruit thinly and wash.
    – Wash and chop betel leaves.
    – Cut the straw mushrooms into small pieces and soak in salt.

    Step 2: Season mushrooms with seasoning, MSG. Then add oil to the pan and saute shallots and add mushrooms.

    Step 3: Put jackfruit in a pot and boil for a while so that the jackfruit is not bitter. Next, add the sauteed mushrooms. Then add a little salt to taste, then add betel leaves and mix well. Turn off the heat, sprinkle pepper and cut 1 chili into the soup.

    3. Young jackfruit stewed with peanuts 

    Ingredients:

    • 1 young jackfruit
    • 200g peanuts
    • 20g green onions
    • Seasoning: Sugar, salt, MSG, fish sauce, cooking oil

    How to make 

    Step 1: Prepare ingredients

    • After buying young jackfruit, cut it into 4 or 8 pieces and soak in water for about 30 minutes to remove all the sap. When the jackfruit has released all the sap, peel it and cut it into small, bite-sized pieces.
    • Pick out the damaged peanuts (if any). Rinse the peanuts once with clean water, then put them in a mortar and pound them with a pestle. Wash and chop the green onions.

    Step 2: Boil the jackfruit

    Before stewing the jackfruit, put the jackfruit in a pot of water and boil for about 15 minutes to remove all the sap. Take out the jackfruit, rinse it with clean water again and drain.

    Step 3: Stew young jackfruit and peanuts

    • Put 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan and bring the oil to a boil. When the oil is hot, add the young jackfruit and stir-fry. Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, 1 teaspoon of sugar, ½ teaspoon of MSG, and stir well.
    • Next, add the crushed peanuts and 1 liter of filtered water, cover and simmer until the jackfruit is cooked. Occasionally open the lid and stir to prevent the jackfruit at the bottom of the pot from burning.
    • Finally, add a little chopped green onion to complete the dish.
