Demand increases, the world cashew market is quite active

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in September 2019, the world cashew market is quite active due to increased demand in Europe and the United States. Importers need a large amount of raw cashew nuts to produce in order to serve the demand on the coming Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Importers need a large amount of raw cashew nuts to produce in order to serve the demand on the coming Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Japanese market has a high demand for quality, organic cashews. Due to the low cashew nut production in Japan, the country boosts imports from India.

At Delhi port of India, the price of exported cashew nuts fluctuated, but the main trend was an increase.

On September 28, 2019, the export price of W180 cashew nuts increased by 0.9% compared to August 30, 2019, to Rs 1,085 / kg (equivalent to US $ 15.36 / kg); W240 cashew nut price increased by 0.3%, to Rs 762.5 / kg (USD 10.79 / kg).

The price of broken 2-piece kernels increased by 0.8% to Rs 595 / kg (USD 8.42 / kg); the price of broken 4-piece and 8-piece cashew nuts was at Rs 575 / kg (USD 8.14 / kg) and Rs 487.5 / kg (USD 6.9 / kg); prices of W320 type cashew nuts increased by 6.1%, to Rs 647.5 / kg (9.16 USD / kg). In contrast, the price of W210 cashew nuts decreased by 0.5%, to Rs 945 / kg (US $ 13.37 / kg).
