Breast milk is one of the fruits allowed to be exported to the US market with lychee, longan, rambutan, dragon fruit and recently mango. Tien Giang is the largest fruit growing area in the country with an area of about 73,000 hectares, collecting about 1.4 million tons of fruit each year.


Vietnam's vegetable and fruit export in recent years has achieved very positive results, the industry's total turnover reached about US $ 43 billion, of which the export of fruits and vegetables in 2018 reached over US $ 4 billion. Up to now, Vietnamese fruits have penetrated the market of 60 countries and territories. Currently occupying about 1% of the world market, with main items including dragon fruit, longan, mango, durian, and watermelon.

In the action program to ensure food safety in the agricultural sector, many practical programs have been and will be implemented. In particular, about 1,845 farms with an area of about 80,000 hectares and more than 500 aquaculture farms have been applied and certified VietGap, Vietnam also organized 1,249 safe food supply chains with 1,450 products in last year.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, food safety in the agricultural sector was improved last year thanks to unannounced inspections. More than 70,500 production and trading facilities of agricultural raw materials were inspected. Of these, 5,223 establishments were fined VND 39.8 billion (USD 1.7 million) for violations.

The number of food safety violations last year decreased by 38% compared to 2017 and the number of food poisoning cases decreased by 26%

The year 2019 will continue to be a bright year for Vietnam's fruit exports after many products have completed the procedures for export. Many experts say that the value of fruit exports in 2019 may increase by 1 billion USD compared to 2018.
