In April 2019, the first batch of Vietnamese mangoes was exported to the US market with an amount of 8 tons. Mango has officially become the 6th fresh fruit of Vietnam exported to the US market after lychee, longan, rambutan, breast milk and dragon fruit. This is also the result of arduous negotiation process over 10 years.

Mangoes want to export to the US must ensure strict requirements of partners such as content of pesticides, insect pests, traceability, irradiation ... For the Chinese market only, at the end of April, China licensed Vietnamese mangosteen imports. This is the 9th fruit that is officially exported into this market, after dragon fruit, lychee, watermelon, longan, banana, mango, jackfruit and rambutan.

In the first 4 months of this year, fruit and vegetable import value of the Chinese market increased to US $ 3.1 billion, 26% higher than the same period last year; The fastest increasing is mangosteen (up 600%). Forecast, in 2019 the Chinese market will import fruits with a value exceeding 10 billion USD.
